Synopsis
Aria's presence is a curse on a world where the moon determines fate. Rejected by her mate and pack, she is compelled to hide her "tainted" lineage. Aria's delicate existence falls apart when she finds out she is expecting twins.

Aria discovers a terrible truth: her parents' murders were not an accident, and she must battle to save her unborn children from the Lycan King's cruel desires. Aria faces the evil that has been haunting her for years when the past and present collide.

Aria sets forth on a dangerous quest to recover her roots and disprove the lunar prophecy that condemned her family, with the assistance of unexpected allies. Though long-kept truths come to light and allegiances are put to the test, Aria's biggest obstacle is embracing her actual self and the power it entails.

Will Aria emerge from the shadows to create a new legacy, or will her broken past dictate her future?
Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 2

“I will not allow you to take her!" Elijah's words echoed loudly, cutting through the darkness.

“Do you think you can keep her safe? Without the King's favor, you are nothing.” Ryker stepped forward like a predator, sneering.

Aria's heart pounded in her chest as she felt the tension in the air deepen. “This is it.”

She looked at Elijah, who had determined blue eyes, but she could feel the burden of his past bearing down on him. "Elijah, we have to leave this place! Right now!”

Ryker laughed a dark, deep laugh. "Aria, where are you going to run? You are still a tainted wolf, and everyone is aware of the consequences for those who cross me."

The howling of the pack rocked the ground and served as a reminder that they were never really alone. "They're coming!"she cried out, her voice trembling with panic.

“I said back off!" Elijah shouted angrily and taking a defensive stance. He moved closer to Aria, putting his body between them as if he was daring Ryker to approach.

“Elijah, you're an idiot. You'll soon realize that she is nothing more than a liability." Ryker's eyes flitted, calculating, looking for weakness. “Do you think supporting her will save you? Everything is at stake for you, including your life and status.”

“My life doesn't matter if I lose her.” Elijah shouted back, angry and uncompromising. “I won't allow you to hurt her again."

In sharp contrast to the cold that was seeping into her bones, Aria felt the warmth of Elijah's body against her. Even though she had never been one for confrontation she could feel a fire starting within her now when the stakes were so high. "Ryker, I'm not your pawn. You can't control me!”

“You don't get to make the decision, Aria. The moon has already decided your fate," he hissed with a voice full of hate.

"Stop!" she yelled, releasing the strain with her voice. "You both need to stop! There isn't time for this!"

She was startled by a stir in the neighboring bushes before she could even understand her anxiety. She pivoted just when a burst of motion emerged from the darkness.

“Run” A gigantic Lycan lunged toward them as Elijah shouted and pulled her away.

With her adrenaline pumping through her every stride, Aria staggered as they sprinted into the underbush. The growls and snarls of the pack, their instincts pushing them onward, were audible to her; the night seemed alive, a living thing vibrating with the danger surrounding them.

"This way!" Elijah guided, holding her hand firmly as he led her farther into the forest, across fallen logs and over branches. Her lungs filled with the smell of soil and pine, blending with the anxiety that burned in her veins.

“Elijah, we need to find somewhere safe!” She said in a gasp

"Ahead lies a cave." With a determined expression on his face, he answered, "We can hide there."

The howls became closer as they ran ahead, resonating through the woods in a menacing symphony. With every stride Aria took, her heart raced and her mind raced with memories of her parents and the legacy she bore.

A shadow flitted to their left, and suddenly Kael appeared, obstructing their way. "Are you heading somewhere, Aria?," he said with a menacing smile.

“Get out of the way!" With a shout, Elijah protectively stepped in front of Aria.

With a wicked chuckle, Kael laughed. "Or what? Will you risk your life to protect her? That's rich. At this point, you are nothing but a traitor.”

“I'm no traitor," Elijah roared in a deep growl. "I'm not going to follow a coward like you or the king anymore."

Elijah's remarks gave Aria a sudden feeling of hope. Is it possible for him to turn against them?

“You think you can defy the King? You will pay for this.” With a sneer, Kael's expression changed from lighthearted to deadly serious.

With his fists clutched at his sides, Elijah stood steady. "Not if I have the option. Aria, we're leaving. Now"

“You think you can run indefinitely? You think they won't find you?" With a gleam in his eyes, Kael took a step closer.

“We're going to take our chances,” Feeling the power of her resolve, Aria fired back. She was not going to be a pawn anymore.

Elijah lunged forward, throwing Kael to the floor with a quick motion. As they tumbled around on the ground, the two Lycans fought for dominance. Aria looked helpless as she watched the scene play out and she gasped.

“Elijah!" She let out a cry and moved involuntarily toward them.

“Stay back!” Elijah yelled as he struggled with Kael, who was driven by rage and a desire for dominance. Aria could see their primordial instincts coming to the surface in a vicious show, the raw strength and savagery in each of them.

Aria's pulse raced as Elijah fought back with such passion that Kael twisted and gained the upper hand. " Get to the cave! I will hold him off!”

“I can't leave you" Aria objected, but she deep inside she knew that she had to act.

"GO! NOW!" he bellowed, using a sudden burst of strength to knock Kael off balance.

Aria stopped for a while, hearing the sounds of the fight reverberating throughout the forest as she watched the two struggle, teeth and claws bared. At last, terror and resolve took hold.

"I won't desert you!” She yelled back before pirouetting around and running in the direction of the cave.

Behind her, she could hear the fight and the growls, the thud of bodies striking the ground, and the sound of claws ripping into the skin. Driven by a mix of optimism and terror, Aria pushed herself even harder.

At last, she rushed inside the cave, completely engulfed by darkness. She staggered as the chilly air touched her face and her eyes adjusted to the low light.

"Elijah!" she cried, her voice resonating against the walls of stone.

Silence descended around her, and panic gnawed at her. With her pulse pounding, she knelt and listened carefully. Her labored gasps were all that remained of the fight's noises.

“Where had he gone?”

Casting a glance around, she looked for him. She could practically feel the weight of ages pushing in on her, and the cave was alive with flickering shadows against the walls.

Just then, there was a slight rustle coming from the doorway. Aria froze, bracing herself for the worst with every muscle. “Elijah?” she muttered, holding out hope.

She held her breath as the rustling became more intense, prepared to flee in case it was Kael or worse, Ryker.

Then a familiar figure, haggard and panting, stepped out of the shadows. With a look of tremendous resolve in his eyes and blood running down his arm, Elijah stumbled in.

"You made it" Aria cried out in relief and hurried over to be at his side.

He tried to seem casual in his response, "Of course I did" but she could see the tension in his expression. "But our time here is limited. They will come looking for us."

“What do we do?” Aria asked, her heart palpitating.

“We get ready to fight back.”

His words struck a chord with her, kindling a fire she was unaware she had. “Fight? How? We are outnumbered!"

“We must find allies. There are people who believe in my cause," he remarked, his tone becoming serious. “The King's power is based on fear, so if we can convince them that we are unbeatable, they might come to our aid."

Aria felt her heart quicken at the thought. This is their opportunity to change the situation. "What about Ryker? What if he pursues us?”

"He will, but we'll be prepared," With conviction visible in his blue eyes, Elijah promised."After gathering the necessary items, we'll launch our attack."

A rustling outside the cave brought her back to the present. Her heart quickened as she gasped, "They're here!"

Elijah approached the cave's opening and peered into the shadows. "We have to move away from the entrance and go deeper."

The pack's far-off howls resounded in the cave as they dove further into the darkness, a symphony of impending disaster. It felt like the walls were closing in on them, and that the darkness was enveloping them in a fearful blanket.

"I won't to allow them to take you” In a quiet voice, Elijah turned to face her, and for a split second, the mayhem outside subsided.

Aria's heart fell as she heard a tremendous boom reverberating from the entryway before she could react. "They've got in!"

“Stay close!” As they made their way farther into the cave, Elijah yelled and gripped her hand, the sound of his claws scratching on stone resonating menacingly behind them.

They found themselves in a cramped hallway, and Aria could hear the pack getting closer with growls and yells.

"This way!" Just as a big shadow obscured the entrance to the cave, Elijah tugged her through the little aperture.

“Elijah!" She cried out, fear shooting through her.

“Just a little further!” With a hint of desperation in his voice, he yelled back.

The roar of the pack grew louder as they pushed through the opening. They are right behind them.

A gigantic Lycan burst into the cave, obstructing their only path out, just as they were about to reach the end of the passage.

“Found you* With triumphant eyes, Kael let out a snarl.

Aria's heart raced and her breath caught. This was it. They were trapped.

"Elijah!" She screamed as terror tore at her throat.

"Get ready to sprint!" Elijah gave the command, standing between her and Kael.

Aria had a surge of resolve coursing through her body. She won't to allow them to take her once again.

“You think you can keep her safe Elijah?” Kael winked and drew nearer. You are outnumbered. You can't save her.”

“Watch me!” Elijah bellowed, his tone ferocious and uncompromising.

Aria's pulse pounded as Kael sprang forward, preparing to attack with his extended claws. Breathing deeply, she braced herself to fight for her life again.

But suddenly the cave gave way abruptly, just as Kael was about to reach them. The ground trembled beneath their feets as a rumbling reverberated through the walls.

"What the—?" Kael staggered and looked about, perplexed.

“No!" Elijah yelled and reached for Aria.

The cave was bathed in a ghostly glow as a dazzling burst of light emerged from the darkness before they could react.

Aria squinted against the glare, feeling her surroundings twist and distort as her heart raced. She sensed the energy rush, a pulse that went right through her.

“What's happening?" She yelled, her voice cracking with panic.

Kael's shocked eyes grew larger as the light got stronger. **This isn't possible.”

The ground gave way beneath them with a tremendous boom, and an invisible force tore through the night, tugging at them.

"Elijah!" As turmoil enveloped them, Aria let out a scream and reached out for him.

And then, everything went dark.
