Alicia makes her way into her lover’s house only to see her boyfriend and her best friend having sex in the living room. Alicia dropped the bottle of wine she was holding in surprise, the noise startling them. While they tried to get decent, Alicia ran out of the house towards her car with tears running down her face.

  “Alicia!, Alicia please wait I can explain” she knew that it was her boyfriend chasing her. 

  “Drive” she ordered the driver as soon as she got into her car.

  Tears ran down her face as she remembered the scene that she just saw. Today was their anniversary, Daniel didn't call her so she decided to go over to his house to surprise him since he was too busy to call her only to be surprised that he was not in fact busy with work, he was busy sleeping with her best friend. Calming herself down,she called the restaurant she booked reservations for dinner to cancel it.

   “Take me to any bar you know,I need to clear my head,” she instructed her driver.

  “But ma'am i don't think it is…..” the driver started to say.

  “I didn't asked for any suggestions from you”she interrupted him.

   Looking out the window she couldn't help but wonder where she went wrong in her relationship with Daniel. She was always at his beck and call despite being so busy at work. She wanted to get married to him so when he complained about her being too busy, she made adjustments in her schedule to suit him, he never returned the favor but she didn't mind she just wanted to please him.

   “We are here ma'am”her driver said, breaking her away from her thoughts.

  Getting out of the car, she walked straight into the bar going towards the counter.

  “What may I help you with?” the bartender asked her.

  “Give me your strongest drink,” she said.

  Watching the bartender make her drink, she could feel eyes on her but didn't pay attention to it.

 “Here you go” the bartender said, sliding a glass of drink to her.

  “Thank you” she said, taking the drink in one gulp.

 Feeling the alcohol kick in, she ordered for more drinks and in a short period of time she was already drunk. 

 “I think it is better if you stop drinking, you have already had too much to take” a voice said stopping her from taking another swig from the glass.

  Looking at the person that spoke to her, she was astonished at the beauty the man possessed. Running her hand down his face she took in his beauty wondering how a man can be that perfect. His piercing eyes stared at her while she looked at him with admiration.

  “I don't think i have had enough to numb the pain I am feeling.” 

  “No amount of alcohol can numb the pain in your heart.”

  “How about we try that out, we will drink till we numb the pain.”

   Calling the bartender, she ordered more drinks for them. He watched her as she drank, signalling the bartender, he told them to get her water. 

  “Here”, he said, handing her the glass of water,” it will help you sober up.”

  “ I don't want to sober up, since the alcohol didn't help, how about you help numb my pain? '' she said seductively, running her hand down his arm.

  “As much as I would love to do that, you are drunk and I will not take advantage of that.”

  “Come on, we are both strangers that will never see each other again.what are the chances that we will see each other again?” She said to him.

 His dark eyes pierced hers as he looked for any sign of nervousness but all he saw was lust. Taking her hand, he led her up to one of the rooms the bar had.

Waking up the next morning, Alicia felt bile about to come up her throat, she ran to the bathroom and puked her guts out. She felt like shit and looking into the mirror she saw she also looked like shit. Her head was pounding as she walked into her room trying to remember what happened the previous night and how she even got home from the bar.

 “Oh my God!” She exclaimed as the events that occured last night rushed into her head. His piercing dark eyes staring into hers was all she could think about. A loud ringtone brought her out of her thoughts but seeing who the caller was, she remembered the reason she even went to the bar in the first place,her boyfriend having sex with her best friend was a sight she never imagined she would see. Rejecting the call,she walked into the bathroom to prepare for work.

   Walking down the stairs, Alicia saw her father seated at the dining table with his head in his hands. Taking a mental note to have breakfast at the office, she tried to walk past her father but was stopped before she could get to the door.

 “Don't i get a greeting anymore?” Her father asked.

 “Good morning father” she greets him.

 “Please come sit with me, I have something to discuss with you.”

 “Is anything the problem?” Alicia asks her father, walking towards the table.

 “Yes but first, where were you last night?” Her father asked.

 “I believe that is not the matter at hand so please get straight to the point, I am already late for work.”

 “Alicia, i am only asking about your whereabouts I was…..”

   “Father please, say what is the problem, I have to get to work” she interrupted her father.

  Taking a deep breath,” I received a call from the office, some of our investors are withdrawing from our company,” her father said.

  “How is that possible?I was not informed of such.”

  “ Yes, I was notified this morning about it,they claim the problem comes from the finance department” her father said,” I think we are having financial issues.”

  “Okay I will look into it once I get to the office.” Alicia said while standing,” is there any other problem?.

  Her father's lack of response gave her an answer so she made her way towards the door. Before she could open the door, it was already opened and upon seeing the person that opened the door anger washed all over her.

  “What are you doing here? Alicia

 asked the person with anger lacing her voice.
