His lips began to tremble, his hand clenched into a fist. "What makes you think we're okay? I don't even like you at all!" Lauren shouted.
"Oh, so you think I like you?" Zai sarcastically retorted, smirking.
"Are you that conceited? You're not even that pretty," he knew it was coming. But he also knew he was lying about how beautiful she is, Lauren.
"W-What?!"
"You're not even that pretty, how could you think I like you?" Zai grinned brusquely and pocketed his hands, raising Lauren's eyebrows at what she heard.
"How dare you judge my appearance!" Lauren shouted with frustration and was about to hit Zai, but he swiftly caught her wrist.
"How dare you belittle me?" he talked back and pulled Lauren by her wrist, making Lauren gulp.
"B-Belittle?" Lauren said in disbelief.
"You're a teacher yourself, I'm older than you by more than five years, Lauren. How dare you belittle me?" Lauren felt irritated and withdrew her hand.
"That's why you can't keep up because you're old!" Lauren shouted and quickly left. Zai couldn't believe her behavior and said to himself, but he caught himself smiling as he watched the girl's back.
How could she make me feel like this? After all, I don't like kids, he said in his mind, trying to lecture himself.
